US Business Development Manager

Location: US, Remote

You will be responsible for the business development and sales for leading Pharmaceutical, Biotech, and Contract Research Organisations (CROs) by researching, identifying, generating, and driving business opportunities to successful close with the assistance of a sales support team. By becoming an expert in conveying the vision of our products and services, you will be able to recommend solutions based on an understanding of the customer's requirements. You will also need to demonstrate credibility and an understanding of the clinical trials Industry; establishing and maintaining trusted relationships with influencers at multiple levels, enabling you to drive usage and promote adoption of products and services.

You will analyse and monitor business growth and decline, as well as provide possible solutions and new ways to strengthen the Company's competitive position within the industry.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to handle a high and varied workload with efficiency and accuracy. You must be highly organised and be able to work in a busy environment. You will work alongside a knowledgeable and impassioned global team to drive sales and revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identifies, evaluates, and develops new business opportunities in order to expand business and increase profitability
  • Present and sell company products and services to new and existing customers
  • Generate sales meetings and build business relationships within existing accounts and new accounts
  • Actively lead the business development process for assigned accounts
  • Use effective communication methods, including regular calls and visits to key customers
  • Manage assigned strategic and key account relationships individually or in coordination with account management counterpart
  • Form a fundamental part of the exhibition team, attending international events
  • Pursue Approved Vendor Status, MSAs, and Preferred Vendor Status
  • Manage and record within Salesforce.com all relevant sales activities and account documentation and reports
  • Present self-generated sales, revenue, and forecast reports
  • Identify emerging markets and market insights
  • Achieve growth and sales targets
  • Design and implement a strategic sales plan for all accounts
  • Be aware of new products / services and competition

Key Skills

  • A business-focused degree or relevant experience
  • 5+ years professional experience, with a proven track record, working in a business development role
  • Previous experience in customer service, sales, or other related fields
  • Excellent IT and keyboard skills, and a familiarity with CRM platforms
  • Excellent communication skills with good rapport and relationship building skills
  • A consultative approach, with good listening skills and an ability to understand client's needs
  • Energetic and willing to thrive in a start-up style atmosphere
  • Positive and professional demeanour
  • Excellent organisational abilities and both written and verbal communication skills
  • You will have a proven track record in a similar role, be highly computer literate, have sales experience and be commercially orientated
  • It is essential that you have the capacity to work with colleagues at all levels, can work on your own initiative whilst maintaining team approach
  • The successful candidate must have exemplary personal standards of conduct, and the ability to work under pressure
