Why does standardised clinical photography matter so much in dermatology trials?
Dermatology trials often use photographic and imaging endpoints, such as PASI or EASI severity scoring, that depend entirely on consistent lighting, angle, and colour calibration across every site and every visit. A photograph taken under slightly different lighting can shift a severity score enough to affect the primary endpoint, which is why standardised imaging equipment is treated as a data-quality issue rather than a documentation nicety.
