Why it matters

Why are sleep trials moving away from full in-lab polysomnography?
Full polysomnography captures the most detailed picture of sleep architecture, but it requires an overnight stay in a sleep lab, which limits how many nights, and how naturally, a patient's sleep can be studied. Home sleep apnea testing and wearable monitors are increasingly used instead or alongside PSG, trading some depth of data for the ability to monitor sleep over many nights in a patient's own environment.

Actigraphy adds objective data that patient sleep diaries can't
Patients are notoriously unreliable at recalling their own sleep patterns, which is why actigraphy devices, worn continuously over days or weeks, are increasingly used alongside or instead of subjective sleep diaries to give trial teams an objective record of sleep-wake activity.

Sleep sits at the intersection of several other therapeutic areas
Poor sleep is closely tied to cardiovascular, metabolic, and mental health outcomes, so sleep studies often need to monitor blood pressure and vital signs alongside sleep-specific devices, rather than sleep metrics in isolation.

What we do

Our global distribution network puts calibrated equipment on site for sleep studies anywhere in the world, whenever it's needed. Sleep monitoring covers sleep monitors and actigraphy devices. Cardiometabolic monitoring covers blood pressure monitors and CGM devices. Day-to-day site operations covers refrigerators, freezers, thermometers, and temperature dataloggers. Everything is available fully calibrated and ready to use. If you require equipment supply for a sleep study, get in touch.
